Warriors Never Die James Forman Memorial Benefit starts at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Riverside Multiplex. Presale tickets are $10 at Adopt-A-Pet and $15 at the door.
Throughout his life, James Forman loved animals. That's why to honor his death, his friends organized the Warriors Never Die James Forman Memorial Benefit, which raises money for the local Adopt-A-Pet organization, organizer and friend Lance T. Hayes said.
This will be the second year for the benefit, which will be on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Riverside Multiplex. The event was started last year after Forman, of Victoria, passed away in his sleep in 2007.
The doors to the event open at 4 p.m. and there is a full musical line-up set for the evening.
There will be a performance by Cas Haley, the runner-up on season two of "America's Got Talent," as well as performances by local bands AR-15, Pop Rocks Ugly, Return to Cinder, Slap Jesse, The Cherry Bombers, The Loveletter, DJ Bigg Robb and Sean Christensen.
In addition to the live performances, there will also be a silent auction, vendor booths and a new feature called the gift card gamble.
For a $2 donation to Adopt-A-Pet, participants can reach into the gift box and pull out a gift card. So far, over 40 gift cards have been collected, ranging in value up to $50. Gift cards have been donated by Barnes & Noble, Bath & Body Works, iTunes, Best Buy, Starbucks, Outback Steakhouse, Valero, Whataburger and Hastings, among many other businesses.
