BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A project to redevelop a defunct power plant on Burlington's waterfront has lost a key tenant.
The Burlington Free Press says Green Mountain Children's Museum — one of three anchor tenants for the proposed multi-use center — has pulled out of the deal.
Citing the "economic climate," the museum says its looking for an alternate location.
The museum had planned to move into the former Moran plant along with the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center and a climbing wall.
Mayor Bob Kiss says Moran continues to be an exciting project that will revitalize the waterfront, foster local economic development, and bring significant community benefits to residents.
