Rice Consolidated (8-1, 6-0) clinched its district championship with an easy victory over Brazos Consolidated at home.

The Cougars scored 20 points in the first quarter and never looked back. A variety of Rice players carried the ball effectively, amassing 190 yards in rushing.

Quarterback Myles Dumont returned from injury to complete 10 of 16 passes for 117 yards.

Rice enters the playoffs as the district's top seed.
