Editor, the Advocate:

Our neighbors in Refugio County recently lost one of the best-known and most dedicated residents of the community when Jack Sportsman died suddenly.

He was on his way to the job he had done for 56 years, as public address announcer for the Refugio Bobcats football game.

I would hope the Refugio school trustees will consider naming the football stadium in his honor. It would be a fitting tribute to a man so totally dedicated to his school and its students.
