SAN ANTONIO - The St. Joseph Flyers won the TAPPS Division II, District 3 championship with a 38-21 win Friday night over San Antonio Christian.
The Flyers' win ensured them a home playoff game at 7:30 p.m. next Friday night in Victoria. St. Joseph will host Northland Christian Cougars ( Houston ).
The Flyers totaled 424 yards of offense with Kevin Daniels leading the way with 152 rushing yards and 80 passing yards. Daniels scored three touchdowns.
The Flyers' Kamen Ruelas scored two touchdowns to go with his 100 yards rushing.
Don Paul Dubose scored on a 46-yard run and totaled 92 rushing yards and 21 receiving yards.
St. Joseph ended its regular season with a perfect 5-0 district record and 9-1 overall. The Flyers' lone loss was its season-opening game against 2A powerhouse Refugio.
