Beef cattle management strategies - program No. 2

Texas AgriLife Extension Service of DeWitt and Lavaca counties will sponsor a "Beef Cattle Management Strategies Program" at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the Turner Hall between Yoakum and Hochheim.

This program is the second in a series of three programs this fall designed to help beef cattle producers with management decisions as we come out of a drought.

Even though the drought appears to be over, there are still decisions that beef cattle producers have to make as we move through this winter and into next spring.

This second program will focus on helping producers make decisions on post-drought forage management. Topics will include such things as grass recovery, soil fertility, weed control, and overall cultural practices related to forage management.

If you have any questions, you can call the extension office in DeWitt County at 361-275-0816 or Lavaca County at 361-798-2221.

People with disabilities who require an auxiliary aid, service or accommodation in order to participate in this program are encouraged to contact the extension office to determine how reasonable accommodations can be made.

Anthony Netardus is a DeWitt County Extension agent.
