After a couple of weeks off, I am back on the range.

This morning I'll be at the Hard Back Cafe inside Hastings until about 8:30, then off to Cuero. After some interviews, at some point before 11, I am sure I'll stop in at the Main Street Kaffee Haus.

Vandalism this past weekend damaged more than $100,000 worth of Christmas in the Park displays. See Erica Rodriguez's story on the damage in today's print edition and on-line.

Our question of the day deals with vandalism. How widespread is it where you live? We'd like to know. Stop by and tell me what you think.

See you soon.

What's a ranging reporter? These reporters go out into the community, regularly filing live reports, photos and video from around the Crossroads region. To contact Sonny Long, e-mail slong@vicad.com or just add a comment to this story.

  • This is why there is never anything to do in Victoria. When we get something nice vandals tear it up. I shudder to think what will happen at the new schools.

  • I think this is just absolutely awful! I also think Victoria has a horrible problem with graffiti. How come city council doesn't hold property owners responsible for clean up. There are so many delapidated buildings around town that are spray painted and damaged by graffiti.

We need topass an ordinance that calls foir immediate cleanup. I also think we need to come down hard on the persons responsible.

I think there is way too much grafitti in our city and would love to see stiffer penalties.

  • This is really sorry! What is WRONG with people who think it's OK to do these things! ALL I can say is your time will come and are you really ready to meet your reaper when that time does come?! People like you are the ones who make it impossible for NORMAL people like myself to benefit from such nice things because there no longer available because you can’t find something better to do with you expendable time!!!!!!
