The Veterans Day schedule for governmental offices and other services in the Victoria area includes:

GARBAGE SCHEDULE

The Solid Waste Department is closed on Wednesdays. The recycling center, regional area compost site, and landfill will be open normal hours.

TEXAS ZOO

The zoo will be open regular business hours.

CITY AND COUNTY OFFICES

City hall will be closed. Victoria Transit will run. The Victoria City-County Health Department, Victoria County offices and the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission will be closed. City, county and state emergency services will continue to operate.

MUSEUMS

All museums will be open normal operating hours.

LIBRARIES

The Victoria Public Library will be closed. The Victoria College/University of Houston-Victoria Library will be open.

STATE OFFICES

Workforce Solutions-Golden Crescent, Department of Public Safety driver's license office, Texas Department of Human Services, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will be closed. University of Texas Medical Branch Women's Services Clinic will be open.

U.S. POSTAL SERVICE

The post offices will be closed with express mail delivery only.

FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

First Convenience, American Bank, Wells Fargo and the IBC branch located in H-E-B Plus will be open. Bank of America, Capitol One, IBC main branch, Prosperity Bank, Trust Texas and First Victoria will be closed.

SCHOOLS

All Victoria public schools will be closed. Also closed will be Outreach Academy, First Christian and Northside Baptist elementary classes. All other private schools will be open.

HIGHER EDUCATION

Victoria College and University of Houston-Victoria will hold classes as scheduled.

VICTORIA ADVOCATE

All departments will be open regular business hours.
