The Courtyard Gallery in Cuero is holding their monthly "Third Saturday" Acoustic Jam on Nov. 21. This month, the event is being hosted by Bill Passalacqua, the winner of the 2009 Annual Songwriters' Contest at the Hallettsville Fiddler's Frolic, according to a news release.
Passalacqua is a songwriter and performer from Schulenburg who has toured extensively across the country and internationally, according to his bio. Playing his own brand of Americana and folk music, he calls himself a "bluegrass strummer."
Musicians and music lovers alike are invited out to the gallery to join in on the acoustic jam or just sit back and enjoy the music.
In addition to the acoustic jam, this month the gallery also has an ongoing group exhibit up. Bronze artist H. Lamm, photographer Jennifer J. Martin and watercolor artist John Naunheim are all featured in the exhibit, as well as a month-long celebration of El Dia de los Muertos, according to a news release.
Lamm is a research scientist-turned-bronze artist who has turned his years of experience watching nature into permanent beauty. Martin, in addition to being a photographer, is also a writer and fiber artist. Her first book, "Star Child: A Mother's Journey Through Grief," was published by Barnes and Noble and received the Editor's Choice and Publisher's Choice awards. Naunheim is a self-taught artist with a soft spot for western scenes. Beginning in 2010, his work will be marketed to a national audience.
The "Third Saturday" Acoustic Jam will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 21, at the Courtyard Gallery in Cuero. For more information, go to www.courtyardgalleryofcuero.com.
