"Collision" — The latest offering from "Masterpiece Contemporary" is a gripping, two-part thriller tied to a multi-vehicle pileup near London that entangles the lives of 10 strangers and presents a bewildering puzzle for Detective Inspector John Tolin (Douglas Henshall). As it turns out, smuggling, murder and international conspiracy are some of the intriguing elements that emerge from the horrific wreckage. Helping Tolin to sort things out is Senior Investigating Officer Ann Stallwood (Kate Ashfield), who just happens to be his estranged former lover. It all adds up to a rubber-necker's delight. 9 tonight, PBS.

TONIGHT: Let the mind games begin. "The Prisoner" offers a fresh take on the 1967 British cult classic about a man who wakes up in a freaky place called The Village with no memory of how he got there. Ian McKellen and Jim Caviezel star. 8 p.m., AMC.

TONIGHT: On "Desperate Housewives," Susan discovers a surprise connection between her husband and Katherine that has her questioning her relationship with Mike. Again. 9 p.m., ABC.

TONIGHT: "WWII in HD" is an epic 10-hour, five-night miniseries that chronicles the war through the accounts of 12 Americans who experienced it. Gary Sinise narrates. 9 p.m., History Channel.

MONDAY: On "House," Dr. Cranky resumes his post just in time to treat a porn film star suffering from eye pain. We won't ask. 8 p.m., Fox.

MONDAY: Tricia Helfer alert: The "Battlestar Galactica" vixen visits "Two and a Half Men," playing Chelsea's hot college roomie. Naturally, Charlie's restraint is severely tested. 9 p.m., CBS.

TUESDAY: Heather's back! The "Melrose Place" reboot gets a much-needed shot of charisma when Heather Locklear drops in to reprise her role as scheming Amanda Woodward. Can she still bring the drama? We're counting on it. 9 p.m.,The CW.

WEDNESDAY: "America's Next Top Model" crowns its winner, but not before the final two contestants rock the runway one last time. Oh, and dropping by is Eddie Murphy, a guy we totally associate with modeling. 8 p.m., The CW.

THURSDAY: On "Bones," Booth has his style severely cramped when his grandfather (Ralph Waite of "The Waltons") comes to live with him after moving out of a nursing home. 8 p.m., Fox.

THURSDAY: It's another tough assignment for our heroes on "Supernatural." They're trying to hunt down Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) and send him back to hell. So who let him out anyway? 9 p.m., The CW.

FRIDAY: Movie star James Franco makes an unexpected stop in Port Charles for a short-term visit on the daytime soap "General Hospital." Watch out, Jason. Check local listings for times, ABC.

FRIDAY: On "Medium," Allison has to don sunglasses after her eyes develop a sensitivity to light. Just one problem: The shades display mysterious numbers that might allow her to predict people's life expectancies. 9 p.m., CBS.

SATURDAY: Can Joseph Gordon-Levitt make help make "Saturday Night Live" funnier than it has been this season? He hosts tonight's show and welcomes musical guests the Dave Matthews Band. 11:29 p.m., NBC.
