A Victoria woman who appeared on the Dr. Phil show will sign copies of her memoir, "Home Hurts" Saturday at Hastings book store.
Kathleen Richter appeared as part of the show's series "Get Real Retreat," where guests confronted past demons including addiction, depression and abuse.
Richter, who grew up in Austin, said on the show that she had been raped as a child by black men and subsequently harbored a fear of black men. Her appearance on the show and friendship with guest Wade Younger, a black man who was raped by a white man, helped her curb that fear.
Richter will be signing copies of the paperback book, available for $19.95, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hastings, 5206 N. Navarro St.
