CUERO - Eddie Maxwell, band leader, guitarist and vocalist for the Chisholm Trail Swing Band, welcomes an old friend to the Cuero Country Opry on Thursday.

Singer John Sisk, who is also an auctioneer and ordained minister, headlines the opry's monthly show. The Chisholm Trail Swing Band is the house band.

Maxwell and Sisk have known each other for more than 20 years, from when both played the opry in George West.

Sisk, of Mineral, is a co-Founder of the Fellowship of Christian Auctioneers International and serves on its board of directors.

Also taking the stage at the Cuero VFW hall will be two female vocalists from Victoria, Debra Poppe and Gracie Neibrandt.

Tickets are $10 for a catered dinner by Werner's Restaurant of Shiner and the show. The show without dinner is $5.

Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m. The VFW is on U.S. Highway 183 N.

The Cuero Country Opry is sponsored by the Cuero Pilot Club. For more information, call 361-275-3009.
