Laureate Alpha Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met recently in the home of Gene Evans. Mary Helen Goldsmth and Betty Mercer served as co-hostesses.

Mercer presented the program, "Share our Passport to Adventure." She interviewed fellow members, Ruthe Bone, who has covered a good portion of this earth during her lifetime, beginning in Michigan and ending in Texas, with a few stops in between.

Bone earned a nursing degree in Detroit in 1948. She went to work in Hawaii when it was still a territory, meeting her husband, Jack, on a beach. The Bones moved to Detroit, Quantico, Virginia, Gatesville, Jacksonville, North Carolina, Ganado, United Arab Emirates, London and Scarborough, Peru, Indonesia, Colorado and Oklahoma. All the travel was through the military and Jack's work with oil companies.

Bone has many souvenirs from her travels and showed a ladle made from a water buffalo horn.

A Thanksgiving meal will be taken to a needy family.

Members singed up to attend the First Ladies Coffee and Style Show on Saturday.

The Chapter garage sale is set for Dec. 4 through Dec. 5, at JoAnn Lochers home.
