He's bigger than his body gives him credit for.

John Mayer is one of my favorite songwriters. He says what he needs to say.

From all the tabloids he's been in with Jennifer Aniston or Jessica Simpson, when it comes to his music, it seems to set him free.

Over the years, he's broadened his fan base from an adult contemporary-type album, like "Room for Squares," to more bluesy stuff in "Continuum."

Listening to his fourth album, released, Nov. 17, "Battle Studies," he seems to have moved more toward the soft rock, coffee house music direction.

He sings a song with Taylor Swift, "Half of My Heart," which is sure to be a hit.

I think John Mayer's great. His songs like "Room for Squares," "Your Body's A Wonderland," "Say," and "Waiting On The World To Change," keep me interested in his music.

His latest, the gentle Simon and Garfukel-ish "Who Says," is a relaxed, easy listen.
