Friday's heavy showers brought 2 inches of rain, bringing Victoria's rainfall total for this year to 25 inches.
Victoria's average annual rainfall is 40 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
"We're still looking at it to continue raining, so we're expecting it to get a little higher still," National Weather Service Forecaster Christina Barron said Friday afternoon.
Barron expected that light rain would persist until late Friday night, but would be gone by the weekend.
More rain might fall Tuesday, when Victoria has a 30 percent chance of precipitation, Barron said. She said cloud development would be pushing through the area on Sunday.
Although there were flood watches in the area, Barron did not expect flooding to affect Victoria except in the Guadalupe River.
Minor flooding will affect the Guadalupe River, she said.
"At 21 feet, minor low land flooding will occur as the flow seeps the left bank into the low areas of Riverside Park," Barron said.
