Santa is wearing blue again in Victoria.
The Blue Santa program, which stopped about 10 years ago in the Victoria Police Department, is back.
"We want to provide the best Christmas possible for the less fortunate here in Victoria. Our goal for this year since it is the first year back is to help at least 200 kids," said Senior Patrol Officer Shane Wallace, program coordinator.
New unwrapped toys are being accepted at several locations in Victoria. Monetary donations are also accepted and can be dropped off at the police department downtown or at the police sub-station at the mall.
"The success of the Blue Santa program depends on the generous contributions from businesses and individuals," Wallace said. "We accept donations of toys and money. The money is used at local businesses to purchase toys."
Victoria police officers, employees, and volunteers donate their time to wrap and deliver the gifts, Wallace added.
Other Victoria Blue Santa efforts include a toy drive Dec. 6 at Victoria All Star Dance Academy, 125 North Star Drive. Blue Santa will be present between 2 and 3 p.m.
The Memorial High School Anchor Club is taking toy donations and volunteering time to wrap gifts.
Chiropractor Dennis Tillotson, 101 N. Park St., is offering a free "pain track down" health screening for a $2 minimum donation to Blue Santa, Wallace said.
