Schlueter Schlueter

Ganado graduate Blake Schlueter has joined the practice squad of the Atlanta Falcons.

Schlueter was signed by the Falcons after they placed center Rob Bruggeman on the practice squad injured list.

The 6-foot-2, 279-pound Schlueter earned All-Mountain West Conference honors at center before being selected by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

He was waived by the Broncos after training camp.

Schlueter helped the Horned Frogs to a 30-9 overall record, three bowl wins and two top-25 finishes in the Associated Press final rankings.

Last season as a senior, he was named a first-team all-conference selection starting in all 13 games and blocking for a TCU rushing attack that ranked 12th in the nation with a 220.2 yards per game average.

Schlueter earned all-state honors during his career at Ganado.
