Sue Gopffarth darts back and forth at Fossati's Delicatessen three hours a day, five days a week.

She's 65 and as healthy as she was when she was 20 because of vitamins she took for the past 40 years, she said.

"We religiously take vitamins," she said of her and her husband.

Gopffarth takes a multiple, a calcium, a flax oil and several other vitamins throughout her day, she said.

Rebecca Hough, who has worked with the Health Food House in Victoria for roughly 15 years, said she has seen people go in skeptical of vitamins and return days later as believers and feeling rejuvenated.

"People of all ages get on a multivitamin," she said. "My biggest group of people will range anywhere from people in their 30s to 80s."

A true natural vitamin will have better results than synthetic, which don't break down as easily because of other fillers and additives they may contain, she added.

While the most needed vitamins, like A, B, C, D, E and K can be found in vegetables and fruit, they must be eaten raw, she said.

Cooking them depletes the vitamins needed to keep the organs functioning at maximum performance, she said.

Gopffarth also follows this healthy eating trend.

She continues to eat her daily portion of fruits and vegetables on top of her vitamins, she said.

She suggests frozen vegetables because the vitamins are trapped in, she said.

If vegetables are going to be cooked, they should be cooked as minimally as possible so not all the nutrients are lost, she added.

Gopffarth has noticed the healthy eating pattern lifestyle has aged her well, as well as keeping her energetic.

The dent that vitamins put on the wallet may be one of the reasons people are hesitant to purchase them, she said.

Even just following the food pyramid could put you closer to receiving those daily vitamins, she said.

At the end of her days, Gopffarth goes home, washes dishes, does yard work and keeps plenty active.

"I'm healthy," she said repeatedly with a smile. "I'm healthy."
