GOLIAD - Jerry Rodriguez will seek a sixth term as Goliad County Commissioner.
The 59-year-old Precinct 2 commissioner will seek the Democratic Party nomination in the March 2010 primary.
Rodriguez has served on the commissioners court for 20 years.
"I thought about retiring," Rodriguez said. "But I had some key people in the community ask me to stay on a little longer."

I think we need to vote in all new commmissioners, these people have been in charge of Goliad for to long, we need new blood, how about all our younger generation step, up and run against them, and please Jerry lets try to run a fair election this time and don't be trying to use false social security numbers of deceased people to register voters in your precint
October 16, 2009 at 4:33 p.m.oh now now Justice can't say who they are because they know they will be fired from the sheriff's office for the stupidity they put on here. whoever they are (which by the way i think it is getting narrowed down) i hope they are terminated immedialty
October 11, 2009 at 2:46 a.m.I wonder if these "key" people are also involved in the shady dealings at the airport, or the rumored money laundering, the attacks on the FINE EMS system Goliad County has, or the attacks on ANYONE who tries to do the right thing for Goliad County not just themselves or their cronies.
October 5, 2009 at 3:20 p.m.First I would suggest that mr justice change his name. Justice is defined as
October 5, 2009 at 2:39 p.m.a : the quality of being just, impartial, or fair b (1) : the principle or ideal of just dealing or right action (2) : conformity to this principle or ideal : RIGHTEOUSNESS c : the quality of conforming to law : conformity to truth, fact, or reason : CORRECTNESS. Since mr justice makes half truths and hides in the shadow of a user name snipping at the current Sheriff’s office it does not appear he fits the definition of what justice is. It appears his administration failed and he takes comfort in the shadows, not something a real man of conviction would do. I think the good people of Goliad will make educated assessments of how Mr. Brumby does as they did Election Day on how thay felt mr Delagarza job performance was lacking. As far as Mr Williamson goes you might want to check his experience and who his references are before you make any more uninformed remarks.
I agree with a few post here.
October 3, 2009 at 10:03 p.m.First, "Tafoer"..you are correct..."Why?"
Second, "RedXIII"...Goliad County needs new blood on the commissioners court. I agree, we need a honest man with integrity. One who puts the citizens first and not his own self interest.
Third "Justice"...sounds like you are a bit upset because you were not re-hired and have an axe to grind with Sheriff Brumby.
Stop hiding behind your screen name, I DARE you.
Good, now why don't you do something about the sheriff hiring Bryan Williamson, who was escorted out of his class he was teaching at the Victoria Police Academy a few years ago by Victoria County officers and fired. What a great example to be hiring here now. Another dubious choice, Brumby!
October 3, 2009 at 9:18 p.m.New thoughts and new ideas are always a good choice, thanks for your service, but, now is a good time for term limits
