YOAKUM - Three teenagers face capital murder charges in connection with the shooting death of a 70-year-old Yoakum man on Sunday.
Jacob Reynosa, 19, Hugo Ibarra, 18, and a 16-year-old boy, all of Yoakum, were arrested Friday morning by Yoakum Police, Lavaca County Sheriff's deputies and Texas Rangers.
A fourth warrant has also been issued in the case and the suspect sought, said Chief Arthur Rogers.
The arrests were made in connection with the shooting death of Teodoro Cervantes in his Hubbard Street home.

I don't think history will repeat it self on this one. But, the paper stated that their was 5 or 6 punks envolved in this shooting so where are the other three thugs?????
October 2, 2009 at 7:59 p.m.I have handed, on several occasions, the Victoria investigating team the case, all they had to do was put it together and close it, but it always gets tied up with someone dropping the ball. Twice the perps were on video and they are still on the streets. Hoorah to the Texas rangers for catching these punks before they ruined someone else's life. What a shame, taking the life of a weak innocent 70 year old man for a lousy 90 dollars. You need to lay off the tacos John, they clogg your arteries and make you fat.
October 2, 2009 at 7:01 p.m.Any yoakum resident knows that the Yoakum PD couldn't have done this alone. They always need help controling this small town. I'm thankful for the Lavaca County Sheriffs deputies and the texas rangers. As for yoakum pd.......they could learn a few things from their helpers. As for punishment.....DEATH PENALTY ALL THE WAY!!!
October 2, 2009 at 6:25 p.m.TNT88,
The last murder that occurred in Victoria was solved in a very swift manner. They were aware of the parties involved, warrants were issued, and they just had to find them (in Corpus hiding). Just a little FYI buddy. By the way, what's up with some tacos?
October 2, 2009 at 5:12 p.m.Wasn't the person arrested for the rape, arrested because of the good old scent dog line up?
October 2, 2009 at 5:01 p.m.Isn't this the same police department that arrested a man on rape charges...paraded him around, showing what a great department they were....and then had to let him go when all of their "evidence" fell apart?
Let's hope history does not repeat itself.
October 2, 2009 at 4:46 p.m.Guilty! Life in prison without the possibility of parole. Next case please!
Their parents will probably be bragging on their exploits for years to come. Oh how proud they must be.
October 2, 2009 at 4:42 p.m.These animals DON'T need a fair trial. Mr.Cervantes wasn't able to live his life his life was taken by these want to be thugs. If you know their parents you would know why these kids have no respect for others. It takes a parent to be a parent.
October 2, 2009 at 4:04 p.m.Glad to hear they caught these boys. Now tha Cervantes family can have the closer that they need.
October 2, 2009 at 3:27 p.m.I agree with you tnt88. What is a 16 year old doing out that late anyway?
October 2, 2009 at 3:15 p.m.VPD,look, listen and learn. This case was solved in a very swift manner. I think the parents failed miserably here.
October 2, 2009 at 3:05 p.m.some great police work by the city, county and state !
give them a fair trial, if found guilty, let them swing in front of the courthouse !
October 2, 2009 at 2:56 p.m.Good job law enforcement! It's unbelievable that kids could commit such a crime for $90. I hope they receive appropriate punishment for taking an innocent life and for hurting the victim's family.
October 2, 2009 at 2:30 p.m.Good work YPD, LCSO, and Texas Rangers!!! Good police work and INVESTIGATIONS always payoff. NICE work!!!
