Sue Ellen Herring of Rockport, formerly of Victoria, is proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Melissa S. Herring of Victoria, to Adrian Scott Cannady of Victoria, son of George W. and Helen Cannady of Victoria. Melissa is also the daughter of the late Michael D. Herring.

The couple will marry at 4 p.m. on October 24, 2009 in Victoria.

Melissa is a 2006 graduate of the University of Houston-Victoria with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She is employed by First Victoria as a Financial Accountant and Bank Officer.

Adrian attended the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. before graduating from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2001 with a Bachelors in Mathematical Science, and in 2008 with a Masters of Science in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Degree. Adrian also graduated from the University of Oklahoma's Economic Development Institute in 2006. He is employed as the Vice President of Marketing at the Victoria Economic Development Corporation.
