Rachel Anne Caraway and Larry William Berte, both of Houston, were married October 3, 2009, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston. Dr. Boyd Wagner officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Ray and Marge Caraway of Victoria and Dan and Teek Miller of Port O'Connor. She is the granddaughter of Walter Harrington of Uvalde and the late Lois Caraway, and the late Paul and Evelyn Blodgett of Michigan.
The groom is the son of Ron and Sheryl Berte of Flower Mound. He is the grandson of Vivian MacDonald and the late Larry MacDonald of Ankeny, IA, and Dorothy Berte and the late Adam Berte of Algona, IA.
Kathryn Pedraza attended as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kathy Blankenship, Carol Madden, Sarah Sauseda, Leslie Soucek, Courtney Villarreal, and Mindy Warren. Meg and Meredith Schomburg attended as flower girls.
Michael Berte served as best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Brown, Brent Jackson, Gregg Bissot, Tim Soucek, Richard Brooks, and Jason Shrode. Ushers were Robert Caraway Jr., Ryan Caraway, Will Yelton, and Steve Nguyen.
A reception was held following the ceremony at Ouisie's Table in Houston. Following wedding travel to Belize, the couple will reside in Houston.
The bride is 2001 graduate of the University of Houston-Victoria with a bachelor degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is employed by Fortbend ISD in Sugar Land as a first grade teacher.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor degree in Management Information Systems. He is employed by ConocoPhillips in Houston as a pricing analyst.
