I feel relatively safe living here in El Campo. We have very good law enforcement personnel around - plus the fact that I am also insured by Smith and Wesson.

The letter from Danny is 100-percent right. Sidewalks on Guy Grant are needed very badly. I also live in this area and see school children, pedestrians and bikers in danger of being hit by vehicles. Walking in the ditches is also dangerous. City council members, please vote to build sidewalks on Guy Grant. Council members, park your car at Guy Grant and walk your bike to Salem, and you will understand the need for safe pedestrian travel.

I think that the paper should be pretty embarrassed that they are printing all of this garbage from Jefro in Cuero and Randy in Port Lavaca. No wonder no one takes newspapers seriously when you are printing little quarrels between people that are just complete trash.

No to the water park. In this drought, which may continue for years, tax money should be used for sidewalks, streets, drainage, etc., for the benefit of taxpayers who need them and use them.
