Happy Columbus Day!
Today's holiday reminds us of the man known as the founder of our country.
As he is discussed in schools nationwide and remembered in a variety of ways, we want to know how important is he in the history of the United States?

Just think of it as the beginning of the Winter Holiday season, seeing as how VISD dropped Christmas from the calendar.
October 12, 2009 at 4:42 p.m.Well, I'm glad you asked! I stayed up late last night, putting the final coat of paint on the 3 large plywood ships we'll be displaying proudly in our front yard today. And after supper tonight, the family will gather around the fireplace and sing Columbus songs as we snack on New World cake and Explorer punch...
seriously - we can drop a bunch of other holidays and keep Columbus and MLK? wow. that's messed up.
