A darkening sky and morning showers could not stop Crossroads residents from stopping by Japaleno's Cafe Tuesday morning. Ranging Reporter J.R. Ortega asked the question of the day: How important is it to preserve memorials in Victoria?

A: "Very. It's about honoring those who fought for our freedom."

A: "It's so our kids can be proud to be American. Also honoring those veterans who fought to protect our country. My grandfather was a World War II veteran."
