Hard is: watching Suddenlink commercials. Easy is: turning the TV off.

Miss Dorothy from Ganado, I'm from Edna. Well, guess what? Shiner is going to beat Ganado.

Why does Torres School every morning at 7 when I take my granddaughter to school have no lights on - not in the parking lot, not even in the hallways. At 7 a.m. it is dark, and if they are so strict on security, why are the lights out?

B.J. Bunch should get some kind of award. His letter was excellent and right on target.

Amen to Randy from Port Lavaca. He could not have put his words any better. I think that says it all.

I am not sure if leaving shopping carts in parking slots rather than the return receptacle is indicative of rudeness, laziness or lack of responsibility. This practice is not only a safety hazard, but raises prices, because people are hired to retrieve these carts. If you can wheel a cart all over the store, you can return it properly. If this is how you handle small responsibilities, I shudder to think how you handle major ones.

I also bet that you who leave the carts lying around scream the loudest when the wind pushes a loose shopping cart into your vehicle and damages it.

These are perilous times.

And not all, but the majority of the churches are doing what Nero did by fiddling while our nation burns.

  • What's dumb is walking into the striped area between the store and the parking lot without looking both ways for cars. Granted, pedestrians have the right of way, but where's your sense of safety, especially when you have kids with you? I had my gf with me one day, and I looked both ways, and slowly started backing up, and a kid (about 10) zoomed by the back of my truck! No parents in sight. Another time, I was slowly backing up (I always back up slowly), and a grown man walked right in back of my truck. Like 10 inches behind it! What the bleep is wrong with people? Are people dumb, drunk, high, stoned, or just plain stupid?

  • Sam, I am close to making a decision to change to dish/direct TV for that exact reason. I mute the TV whenever they come on. The Suddenlink and those scooter commercials are obnoxious.
Al, The carts left in the Walmart parking lot on a windy day damaged my vehicle to the tune of $450. The lady that stated she couldn't take them to the return receptacle is nothing but lazy, rude and lack of responsibility. If you have children with you, take them along with the basket to te receptacle area. How difficult is that? I'll bet you would scream bloody murder if a cart hit your vehicle. Or maybe your vehicle would look better if a cart hit it.
