Alfred and Evelyn Horelka celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 17, 2009. A dinner party with family and friends was given at the Sky Restaurant.

Alfred and Evelyn have two sons, two daughters and twelve grandchildren: Calvin and Georgia Horelka and their children, Paden and Hallie; Rodney and Jill Horelka and their children, Chaston, Callee, Conner and Clare; Yvonne and Steve Machicek and their children, Madeline, Jacqui and Lilly; and Beverly and Tim Veilleux and their children, Madison, Taylor and Reagan.
