Ranging Reporter Erica Rodriguez was at Ramsey's today asking people about the credibility of news Web sites.
A: "I think they're trustworthy. I believe they're more up to date."
Joe Wyatt, Victoria resident, semi-retired, Joe's Professional Tree Service
A: "Not very much. If you're liberal, you'll get everything that agrees with you on the left side, and if you're conservative, you'll get everything that agrees with you on the right. The truth is somewhere in the middle."
A.C. Brown, Victoria resident, retired
A: "It's not accurate sometimes. I have received comments on things I know are false."
Mary Cotton, Victoria resident, retired volunteer
A: "I don't believe half of the stuff I read online. They tend to add more than what it is."
Susie Skelton, Hallettsville resident, dispatcher Lavaca County Sheriff's Office

MHS VOLLEYBALL LOSES TO KING
Home Stories
Written by Don Brubaker
The Vipers lost in straight games and are eliminated from playoff contention.
Time for another crucial District volleyball match for the Vipers.
They hosted State-ranked King Tuesday night. Starting with game two action, Angela Robisheaux with one of her ten digs, to Katelyn Rather, who had seven assists, to Allie McGehee. Four kills for McGehee. However, the Lady Mustangs took game one 25-17, and game two 25-15. Tabby Zella led the Vipers in assists with nine, here's one of them to Brooke Smith, three kills for her. Still too much King, as the Lady Mustangs took game three 25-8 and the match. With the loss, the Vipers fall to 4-8 in District and out of playoff contention. Post-match react now from Vipers head coach Jamye Pauley.
October 21, 2009 at 11:29 a.m."I don't care", said Pauley. "Everyone says they're state-ranked, that doesn't mean anything. Whoever shows up to play will win. The girls say they want it and they have to prove it. There has to be a point where we can step up and prove that. It's not that we can't do it because we can, it's just that we didn't do it."
Friday night the Vipers play at Judson.
