Editor, the Advocate:
For the first time in 35 years the number of babies being dismembered from the Victoria area has declined. This in a great part is because the numbers of survivors of the abortion holocaust are fewer in number. For example, there are 723 less students in the Victoria Independent School District than there were 20 years ago.
Victoria County had a high of 169 babies killed in the previous reporting year. This latest reporting year the figures have dropped to 141 babies dismembered.
Of those 141 mothers, 71 were Hispanic girls who killed their babies and 56 Anglo mothers had their babies killed. There were 12 black mothers and one Asian who aborted her child.
Breaking down the age groups, there were 25 high school mothers who failed to protect their child; 55 college-age mothers had their babies dismembered, and between the ages of 30 and 40, there were 57 mothers who had an abortion. See:
www.dshs.state.tx.us/CHS?VSTAT/vs08/t38.shtm
Jackson County has gone from a high of 28 abortions, down to 24 the last reporting year to 12 this reporting year. Why the reduction? The students are hearing the "truth" from some good teachers and administrators. Jackson County is to be commended.
Most schools and colleges in Victoria, which should be providing all kinds of help to their students, are a disgrace to their profession. The libraries where a person is supposed to go to learn are mostly devoid of any pro-life literature. Fifty million babies, many as old as eight or nine months, have been killed - the largest holocaust in history and never a word is spoken. We wrestle with spiritual wickedness in high places.
There were 81,591 babies who lost their lives in Texas this past reporting year, up from 81,079.
It is rather amazing that the media have succeeded in blocking out the abortion issue.
They will show "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and any and all kinds of horror on prime time TV, but they will not show an abortion procedure. They will show the birth of a live baby but they will not show them killing a live baby. If it is legal to do it, why is it illegal to show it? America will not reject abortion until they can see an abortion.

Famijoy,
October 26, 2009 at 7:14 a.m.Thanks for a nice, intelligent post. I asked the same thing and have been ignored for several days.
Suzy,
I doubt seriously if Mr. Tasin would congratulate ANYONE for teaching better birth control given his Catholic viewpoint on ANY forms of birth control except Natural Family Planning.
Paul, thanks for the information and the update. I notice you referred to "truth" -- in quotation marks -- about what you say students are getting from "some good teachers and administrators. Jackson County is to be commended."
What do you mean by putting "truth" in quotation marks? More importantly, where is the data that supports your assertion that the drop in the abortion rate in Jackson County is due to what students hear from teachers and administrators?
According to the official website of Jackson County, the estimated 2008 population was 14,146, down 1.7 percent from the 2000 census. To have 28 and 24 abortions in successive years seems inordinately high for the overall population.
So perhaps the drop is due to fewer overall pregnancies among Jackson County residents. And the reason for that could be less instance of sexual intercourse (especially among those not married to each other) or simply not as many fertilizations taking place from the sexual encounters. And the few fertilizations could be because of abstinence (especially among those not married to each other) or because of the use of artificial contraception or a combination.
In short, don't be so quick pat public-school administrators and teachers on the back when it comes to relaying information on the life issue.
October 25, 2009 at 11:28 p.m.What "truth" are they teaching in Jackson County?
October 23, 2009 at 11:44 a.m.Thanks for the info Tassin, I didn't know all of this was available.
Oddly, you could run over a dog in the street and on the same day get an abortion. Then receive more hate from our citizens about running over the dog.
We are a society out of control.
