SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — A spooky Halloween exhibit at the Studebaker National Museum comes with a mysterious twist this year.

Archivist Andrew Beckman says the museum is asking residents who could have been inside the black 1863 horse-drawn hearse when shots were fired that left a bullet hole in one of the windows.

Contest participants must explain in 500 words or less which historical Indiana figure they believe was inside the hearse. Entries should be in the form of a newspaper obituary and are due by Monday.

Winners will be chosen in the 17 and under and 18 and over age groups. Each will receive a $75 museum store gift certificate.

The annual Halloween display also features skeletons, a casket and other artifacts.
