GREEN RIVER, Wyo. (AP) — A Texas company wants to build a 42-mile-long pipeline in Wyoming from the Pinedale Anticline natural gas field to LaBarge that's part of a plan to reduce truck traffic and pollution in the region.
Area residents have been angered by wintertime ozone pollution the past few years, and in 2007 the state issued its first ozone alert for southwest Wyoming.
Officials with the Bureau of Land Management say Houston-based Ultra Resources Inc. wants to build the 6-inch diameter pipeline to meet a requirement in the agency's supplemental environmental impact statement record of decision.
The pipeline would reduce truck traffic from the Sublette County gas field, resulting in a reduction in pollution that could be harming wildlife.
The BLM is accepting public comments through Nov. 23.
