Gas prices locally will keep fluctuating as the dollar goes from weak to strong, said Henry Luddeke, a wholesale manager for Western Petroleum in Cuero.

That fluctuation trend should stay even through the holiday season, Ludeke said.

"Prices went up not because of the holidays, but because the dollar was weak," he said.

Gasoline had been dropping a couple of cents and rising a couple of cents throughout this week, Luddeke said.

The price of regular unleaded gas at most stations in Victoria was $2.57 a gallon on Friday.
