One man was found dead and a woman ill in a home in the 500 block of Dove Drive in the Quail Creek subdivision on Wednesday.
The woman was taken to an undisclosed local hospital.
The Victoria Fire Department detected carbon monoxide in the room where they were found, said Lt. Tom Copeland with the Victoria County Sheriff's Office.
Emergency workers were initially called to the home as a medical emergency around 6:40 p.m., Copeland said.
Copeland added there was no danger to other residents of the subdivision.
Justice of the Peace Henry Welfel conducted an inquest at the home.

I grew up with the family and this is a very tragic story. I hope their kids can get through this tough time. Some people need to find a heart in their soul!

September 3, 2009 at 4:45 p.m.Folks obviously my mind was taking me farther. I was hoping that no financial reasons or family strife was involved in this tragedy. Having deaths of this type of exposure during this time of year are rare. They do happen but are rare.
I don't want any family to see death. It just stuck in my mind someone was trying to sell their home. It led me to hoping that no one was trying to take their lives because of strife. That I would never ever want for anyone.
Sorry my extrapalation (sp) did not make sense. I was worried not being cynical.
