Hey music fans,

Looks like Train is stopping in Houston this fall.

It's been about three years since we've heard a new song from Train, but now, they've got a new single, "Hey Soul Sister," that's been hitting the radio air waves.

I liked the song immediately when I heard it last week, but I didn't recognize that it was Train until I Googled the lyrics. It sounds a lot different than their other stuff. Good different.

Train's not a bad group. I like their older stuff like "Drops of Jupiter," "Calling On Angels," "Meet Virginia," and "When I Look to The Sky."

Singer Pat Monahan and his group have been successful, especially in the adult contemporary category, having sold 4 million albums so far.

"Jupiter," the group's most famous song, won them a Grammy for Best Rock Song, and climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard 100.

The fresh "Hey Soul Sister" is the debut single from the new album, "Save Me San Francisco," due in stores Oct. 27.

The new single reminds me of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours." It's poetic, with similar, folksy Mraz-esque riffs and melodies on the mandolin. It's kind of addicting.

Train will be at Houston's House of Blues on Nov. 22. Tickets become available Friday at 10 a.m for $30, $39.50, and $50 through Ticketmaster.com

Songwriter and pianist Jim Brickman will be at the Cullen Theater at Wortham Center in Houston Dec. 16. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.com. Prices range between $30 and $50.

The Doobie Brothers will be at San Antonio's Majestic Theatre Nov. 4. Tickets, available at Ticketmaster.com starting Saturday at 10 a.m., range in price from $45 to $75.

Taking Back Sunday and All-American Rejects will be at San Antonio's Lonestar Pavilion at Sunset Station Dec. 2. Tickets become available Friday at 10 a.m.
