INEZ - The search continued for more than 12 suspected illegal immigrants who fled a traffic stop north of Inez on Friday night.
The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. when a 2003 Dodge pickup sped up to about 90 mph. The truck finally stopped in the U.S. Highway 59 northbound lane near the Farm-to-Market Road 444 exit, said Trooper Jason Price.
Anywhere from 13 to 15 people jumped out of the truck and ran into the brush, he said.
None of the suspected illegal immigrants were apprehended as of late Friday night, he added.
Several items in the vehicle, like phone numbers and documents, will be used in the investigation, Price said.
The search will continue throughout the night and into Saturday, he said.
Areas with thick brush tend to be prime areas for bail outs.
"I've seen bail outs there before, but I can't attest to that being a hotspot," he said.

I think with this recession, Americans are going to take jobs they would have never even considered before and the "need" for illegal workers in diminishing. We do not need as many as what's coming in.
WE NEED THESE PEOPLE IN OUR WORKFORCE, SINCE SOME AMERICANS ARE TOO LAZY TO WORK.

There is a work program you asked about. There are many ways to come to America.
Tourist VISA's for those who just want to visit.
A Fiancee VISA for those who are engaged to be married to an American Citizen
A Student VISA for those who come to America for Schooling
And something called a WORK VISA, which allows for a foreign national to reside and work within the USA.
I am against Illegal aliens not for their wanting a better life, but because the illegality of their actions supports and spawns a far greater crime, Human smuggling, enslavement, and worse crimes. These crimes can and ARE deadly as 19 immigrants found out one day not too long ago.
Just because the motivation is admirable does not lessen the fact that the crime is still a crime.
