Corrections and Clarifications

The Victoria Fire Department helped Victoria County with the duties of fire marshal during times in which the county lacked this office. The job never fell contractually to the city fire department or its chief. A story on Page B1 on Wednesday, Sept. 16, did not specify this city-county relationship.

The City of Victoria's new tax rate is 64.5 cents per $100 valuation. A headline on Page A4 on Wednesday, Sept. 16, was incorrect.
