HALLETTSVILLE - Hallettsville missed a two-point conversion in overtime giving Smithville a 25-24 win Friday night.

Smithville got the ball first in OT and scored when quarterback Ace Fierro went 7 yards for the touchdown and Danny Davis kicked the PAT.

Hallettsville's Ryan Lenzy scored on a 1-yard run and the Brahmas went for two but Braden Kahanek's pass fell incomplete.

Smithville (3-1) sent the gaem to overtime when Fierro threw a 62-yard touchdown pass to Wade Childress with 44 seconds left in the fourth quarter and the same combination worked for the two-point conversion to tie the score at 18-18.

Lenzy, who rushed for 173 yards on 35 carries, scored in the first period on an 18-yard run and in the second on a 5-yard run to give the Brahmas a 12-7 halftime lead.

Kahanek threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Christian Wood-Dvorak with 1:03 remaining in the fourth period and the Brahmas could have put the game out of reach but missed the extra point.
