25th Anniversary

Donald and Amelia Sudheimer commemorated their 25th wedding anniversary with their family on July 7th at a simple steak dinner in their home, after sharing a prayer and blessing with Our Lady of Victory parishioners on the previous Sunday, led by Reverend David Berger. The couple enjoyed an Alaskan cruise in June, traveling from Anchorage, to Sitka, Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, VanCouver and Seattle, on the 50th year of statehood for Alaska.

They were married at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Bay City, Texas on July 7, 1984 in a mass celebrated by Reverend Charles Sonnier, presently pastor at Queen of Peace Parish in Sweet Home.

Amy is a registered nurse at Citizens Medical Center, and Don is a predictive maintenance engineer / Authorized Inspector at Formosa Plastics. Amy is from IloIlo City, Philippines. She graduated from St. Paul School of Nursing. Don is from St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Both were blessed to be raised in a family of seven children, from parents who never attended high school, but who passed on a strong work ethic, and love of life.

They have three sons, Christopher who is a senior at UT-Austin, Michael who is a sophomore at Victoria College, and Steven who is a junior at St. Joseph High School. They enjoyed father-and-son scouting activities at Troop 364, and high adventure travels to Philmont Scout Ranch-NM, to Northern Tier-Minnesota, and to Sea Base - Florida Keys. Chris and Michael are eagle scouts, and Steven is working on earning the same rank, and on trekking to Minnesota and Florida like his brothers. Steven completed a 70-mile Philmont trek with dad in New Mexico, last summer.

Amy enjoys gardening and fishing. Don enjoys carpentry, mechanics and motorcycling, and serves on the Cape Carancahua Water Supply Corporation Board of Directors (20 years, currently president). Amy's mother and Don's parents are deceased. Amy's father Porferio Pabalan remains healthy in the Philippines, at age 89.
