Early voting for constitutional election runs from Oct. 19-30.
This is a state-wide election.
Monday is the last day to register to be able to vote in the Nov. 3 constitutional amendment election.
An application to register or change current information must be delivered to the voter registrar at 111 N. Glass no later than 5 p.m.
Applications/changes delivered by the US Postal Service after Monday and postmarked Oct. 5 will be accepted as timely delivered.
Eligible to register are residents of the county who are at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, not convicted of a felony or found mentally incapacitated by a court may vote if they are registered at least 30 days prior to an election.
The last day would normally be Sunday, but in this case the deadline is extended to the next business day. If you are currently registered you do not need to re-register.
The 81st Session of the Texas Legislature chose 11 propositions for voter's consideration on the Nov. 3 ballot. The issues placed for approval or rejection range from public access to Gulf beaches, limitations on the use of eminent domain, assistance to veteran's land acquisition and veteran's hospitals as well as other important amendments to the Texas Constitution.
The elections office is a Victoria County department. Its responsibilities include ongoing voter registration and conducting voting in general elections. In addition, the office contracts with political parties to conduct primary and runoff elections and with the city, school districts, college, and water districts to conduct their general and special elections.
