Emergency crews investigate the cause of a two-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon on North Navarro Street near Larkspur Street.

One woman was injured during a Friday afternoon wreck on North Navarro Street near Larkspur Street.

Around 4 p.m., a silver Dodge Charger and white Chevrolet Lumina, driven by 52-year-old Goliad resident Gwendolyn Bland, were northbound on Navarro Street.

When the driver of the Charger slowed before reaching Larkspur Street, Bland rear-ended the car, police said.

A 28-year-old woman drove the Charger. A 74-year-old man and 94-year-old woman were her passengers. All Charger occupants are from Edna, although police did not release names.

The Charger's driver was taken to DeTar Hospital North. The severity of her injuries was unknown.

Everyone involved in the wreck wore his or her seatbelt.

Officer Kelly Luther said Bland, the driver of the Lumina, was found at fault for failure to control her speed. She was not ticketed.
