Take some buckets, a banana or two, a bunch of sand and a whole lot of brooms, and what do you get?

Alliteration!

Oh, and you also get "STOMP," the acclaimed, percussion-driven musical show that has taken the world by storm. This May, "STOMP" will come through Corpus Christi for two nights only on their national tour, according to the show's official Web site, www.stomponline.com.

"STOMP" began as a street performance in Britain and has now grown into an international, best-selling show over the past 14 years, according to a news release.

Using a wide variety of everyday objects from trash cans to Zippo lighters, the performers create rhythmic music and dance routines.

The show has won numerous awards, including the Olivier Award for Best Choreography, a New York Obie Award and a Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatre Experience.

According to the New York Times, the show "is as crisp and exuberant as if it had opened yesterday."

"STOMP" will be at Selena Auditorium in Corpus Christi on May 11-12. Tickets range in price from $21.50 to $49 and are available at TicketMaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

    What neat events! What a variety of fun stuff available in the anchors of the Golden Diamond!

    Again, we are spending three-quarters of a million dollars trying to lure folks to Victoria from these very places to see what? Do what? Enjoy what? Spend money on what?
