UHV softball team goes on the road for doubleheader

The University of Houston-Victoria softball team will play a doubleheader Tuesday against the Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.
The No. 17 Jaguars are coming off a week in which they went 4-0, including a pair of forfeits vs. Huston-Tillotson because of injuries. UHV is 30-12 on the season, the second straight season it has won 30 games. In 2008, the team's inaugural year, the team won 29 games.
Izzy Glowney (.350, 4HR, 26 RBI), Allison Hinton (.374, 7HR, 36 RBI) and Courtney Pettit (.364, 3 HR, 31 RBI) lead the Jaguars on offense. Baylea Wagener (10-2, 2.23 ERA) and Tasha Rotramel (12-8, 1.98 ERA) lead UHV's pitching attack.
Our Lady of the Lake, a first-year program, is 25-13 on the season. Bianca Salinas (.286, 7HR, 23 RBI ), Brooke Hernandez (.347, 5 HR, 26 RBI) and Corina Noel (.402, 5 HR, 34) lead Our Lady's offensive attack. Tiffany Stritz (9-4, 1.98 ERA) is the team's top pitcher.
