For those of you who haven't heard about this show that took Broadway, and now the world by storm, "Wicked" is the story about the Land of Oz long before that pig-tailed Kansan dropped in. The musical tells the story of the witches of Oz before they were commonly known as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch, according to the show's official website, www.wickedthemusical.com.
Based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire, the show won numerous awards, including several Tony Awards and a Grammy. The original Broadway cast recording of "Wicked" is among the top Broadway album sellers and in 2004, the album topped iTunes top soundtracks, according to the website.
"Wicked" will be at the Hobby Center in Houston from June 30-July 25. Tickets range in price from $40-$130 and go on sale to the general public starting at 10 a.m. Sunday. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 1-800-745-3000 or go online to www.ticketmaster.com.
