Even though the gist of the story is correct, I really feel the need to clarify some comments in the story that either the reporter or copy editor left poorly written or edited. The reporter was told that GBRA has significant legal interests in this case - among those interests being the water rights it holds on the Guadalupe River and its management of the river. And the last quote attributed to Smith is incorrect and out of context. The reporter was told: IN THIS CASE, the lawsuit against the state is like filing against us (GBRA) too, because we have statutory authority over that river.
The comments in this posting come from GBRA spokesperson LaMarriol Smith.
Lighten up, Ken. Your own water supply and that of your neighbors is being supported by TAP.
What's interesting is that the Advocate published this story of the intervention, but not the Express-News. Way to go, Advocate!
