  • richq61...The closest thing to a "bunker" at the Victoria Regional Airport (VCT) are the old bomb magazines left over from the WWII days when Foster Field was an Army Air Corps training base. These are NOT suitable as a refuge for special needs citizens in case of hurricane. The large structure that possibly looks like a bunker that can be seen from Hwy 59 on the north side of the airport is not a bunker; it's an old bullet trap. Back in the day, the armorers at Foster Field would jack up a P-47 or P-51 so the plane was simulating level flight and zero the .50 cal. wing guns into the "bunker" just like taking your .308 to the range and zeroing it prior to deer season.

  • Victoria isn't a sheltering city we are to close to the water.... All special needs people are taken to San Antonio. If we have a major hurricane coming people need to leave.
