Bicyclist struck by car, injured

A 40-year-old Victoria man was injured Friday night when he was struck by a Kia Sorento sport utility vehicle.

A man riding a bicycle south along Sam Houston Drive was injured around 7:50 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a car.

A 50-year-old woman driving a Kia Sorento was traveling west on Mistletoe Street when the 40-year-old bicyclist was struck.

The woman was cited for failure to yield right of way to the bicyclist and for not having insurance, said Victoria police officer Chris Hill.

The cyclist was taken to Citizens Medical Center. His condition as not known Friday night.

The names of the two people were not released by police.
