A Victoria woman was taken to a hospital after crashing into a truck about 9:20 p.m. Monday.

Cheryl Olson was driving a Toyota Prius north on U.S. Highway 77 when she crashed into a tractor-trailer rig just south of Lu Raq's Restaurant and Beer Garden, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Thomas Arriaga.

The driver of the truck, Jose Flores, 52, of Yoakum, was pulling onto the northbound lane out of a private driveway to the east of the highway.

Doctors were still examining Olson Monday night, according to a hospital spokesperson.

She was wearing a seatbelt.

Flores was cited for failure to yield the right of way, Arriaga said.
