The morale and ethics have been quite low given that the people that were hired by the ex-President have all come with questionable background. They preach one thing but do exactly the opposite. No one can deny the growth and progress the university made under Dr. Hudson who is highly entrepreneurial and visionary. I hope the new President will get rid of the administrators hired by Dr. Hudson and instill ethical values.
Ofthepeople--I don't know where you've been hiding, but all you need to do is take a survey of the folks in the trenches at UHV to know that morale is indeed at an all time low. Kudos to Kator for her insight and no-room-for-argument removal of Hudson.
I have to completely disagree with uratoad, the staff and faculty moral is not at an all time low. Dr. Hudson was/is a visionary leader willing to make hard decision in order for UHV to move forward. I am assuming that they were not all popular, but were in the best interest of the university. UHV has moved forward and accomplished many things under his leadership. All that being said, I am confident that Dr. Smith will make excellent interim president, and I am looking forward to working with him. UHV will move forward.
From the outside looking in, things might have looked okay with Hudson as president. But from the other direction, things are not okay. Faculty and staff morale are at an all time low. Ethics and honor are a thing of the past. Perhaps with Don Smith on board, some of that can be revitalized. Good bye and good riddance to Hudson. Thank goodness UH System realized something needed to be done.
Bravo Advocate, Tim Hudson is a good and decent leader in our community. We are fortunate the Hudson family is committed to Victoria and has chosen to remain here.We have been enriched by his efforts and should be grateful.
