A woman crashed her car after an apparent seizure, knocking over a stop sign at the corner of John Stockbauer Drive and Sharon Ann Road about 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The 44-year-old Victoria woman was driving a Buick LeSabre south on John Stockbauer Drive when witnesses said she came to a complete stop in the inside lane and began twitching, according to Officer Jef Strauss of the Victoria Police Department.

Witnesses said the vehicle then coasted a few feet and hit the road sign.

Strauss said the woman, who was wearing a seatbelt, was semi-conscious when he arrived. She was taken by ambulance to Citizen's Medical Center.

Strauss said the driver did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
