Stop selling synthetic marijuana

Editor, the Advocate:
If a convenience store or other business in your neighborhood is selling the synthetic version of marijuana called K2, please tell them to stop or you will take your business elsewhere. This is becoming a huge problem for young people who believe that just because it is legal (for now, Kansas has already made it illegal to sell it or buy it) it is not harmful. That is not the case, this drug mimics the effects of marijuana and may also cause hallucinations, delusions, elevated blood pressure and even seizures. There is no quality control so there is really no way of knowing what is in the stuff. Merchants who are willing to make a buck by selling this to the young people in our community should be ashamed. Be aware that if you operate a motor vehicle while intoxicated BY ANY SUBSTANCE, you can still be charged with DWI.
Parents, educate yourselves about this substance because it is the new plague sweeping our country.
